What is Trezor® Bridge?
Trezor® Bridge is a lightweight background service that allows your computer and web browser to communicate with a connected Trezor® Hardware Wallet. It bridges the gap between USB transport and the Trezor Suite web or desktop apps, enabling essential actions such as Trezor Wallet Login, account discovery, and transaction signing.
How to Install
- Visit the official download page: trezor.io/bridge.
- Choose the installer for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux) and run the package.
- Open Trezor Suite (web or desktop) or go to trezor.io/start to initialize device setup.
- Connect your Trezor® device with a data-capable USB cable. If prompted, follow on-screen instructions to complete Trezor Login or device initialization.
Why You Need Bridge (and When It’s Optional)
Bridge is required for classic browser integrations on some platforms. However, Trezor Suite Desktop bundles its own connector, so desktop users who install the Suite via the Trezor Suite Download might not need a separate Bridge install. Using Bridge ensures the widest compatibility with browsers and older OS versions.
Troubleshooting & Best Practices
- Use a high-quality data USB cable — many connection issues are cable-related.
- Confirm Bridge is running (check system tray / background services) and that your browser allows local connections.
- If the device isn’t detected, restart the browser or replug the device into a different port.
- Only download Bridge and Suite from official domains: trezor.io and suite.trezor.io.
Security Notes
Always verify you’re on official Trezor® pages before downloading. Trezor® Bridge only facilitates communication — your private keys remain on the Trezor® Hardware Wallet and are never transmitted to your computer or the internet.
